The Regional Project Monitoring Committee of the Regional Development Council VI conducted a site visit in Cabano Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) in the province of Guimaras on March 2, 2023.
Representatives from the National Economic and Development Authority-VI, the Department of Budget Management-VI, the Department of the Interior and Local Government-VI, the Presidential Management Staff-VI, and the Guimaras Provincial Project Monitoring Committee composed the monitoring team that aimed to assess the overall status of the project implementation and gather up-to-date information on it.
This team's initial monitoring visit was assisted by personnel from the National Irrigation Administration-Iloilo-Guimaras Irrigation Management Office, headed by Division Manager A, Engr. Randy C. Alipis.
Currently, the dam excavation is 46.32% complete. While the drilling and grouting is at 7.63%. Works include the hauling and stockpiling of suitable and unsuitable materials at the designated disposal area.
Meanwhile, the excavation works in the diversion conduit reached 81.73%.Overall, the CSRIP is 8.24% of the physical accomplishment of the civil works. This project targets completion by February 2025. The team paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of the Municipality of San Lorenzo, Hon. Ninfa G. Gajo before the site visit.
