PROGRESS REVIEWED AT EXIT CONFERENCE FOR CABANO AND BAYUYAN SRIP

October 17, 2024 – An Exit Conference following the inspection of the Cabano and Bayuyan Small Reservoir Irrigation Projects (SRIP) was held today at the NIA Regional Office VI Conference Room in Barangay Tacas, Jaro, Iloilo City. The meeting aimed to discuss key points regarding the project implementation.

The Acting Regional Manager of NIA Regional Office VI expressed his gratitude to the NIA Central Office for personally overseeing the inspection, highlighting its importance in ensuring the efficient execution of the projects.

The NIA Central Office Deputy Administrator for Engineering and Operations Engr. C’zar M. Sulaik, Acting Manager of the Engineering Department Engr. Reyne B. Ugay, Acting Manager of Designs and Specifications Division, Supervising Engineer of CAS-CMD Engr. Lawrence C. Mosqueda, and Senior Engineer of CAS-CMD Engr. Joshua C. Datol were in attendance to lead and present the results of the inspection.

Engr. Sulaik emphasized the importance of on-site inspections to comprehensively understand the project's current status and identify areas where additional support could expedite completion.

 

Project Resident Engineers, Engr. Joseph Digal of Cabano SRIP and Engr. Jay R. Agustin of Bayuyan SRIP, provided additional details on the project's progress, addressing issues and concerns raised during the inspection. Representatives from the contractor, Silver Dragon Construction, also participated in the discussions, working in collaboration with the NIA to resolve project-related matters.

Key personnel from NIA Regional Office VI, Iloilo-Guimaras IMO, and Aklan-Capiz IMO were present to offer their support and share valuable insights, bolstering the efforts to ensure successful irrigation projects in the region.

Once completed, the Cabano SRIP in Guimaras and the Bayuyan SRIP in Capiz are expected to significantly impact the region's irrigation and agricultural productivity, making the timely and effective execution of these projects a priority.
