
An orientation on the “Gulayan sa Patubigan” program, spearheaded by Mr. John Raffy Hilario of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Regional Office VI, took place at the NOIMO Conference Room in Bago City. This initiative aligns with Memorandum Circular No. 10, Series of 2025, which promotes community gardening for sustainable agriculture through agency-wide implementation.
The program aims to empower Irrigators’ Associations (IAs) to actively participate in community gardening, enhance food security, and maximize the productive use of irrigated areas. Participating Irrigators’ Associations include Tambana IA, Nafa IA, FIE IA, Abuanan Damsite IA, Sabala IA, Brgy. Bagroy IA, Bocada IA, and Caradio-an Communal IA.
Also present are representatives from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), Ms. Maribel Saquian, NFOTECH Farm Manager and Office of the Bago City Agruculturist, Mr. Ryan Ceasar T. Juarana, Agricultural Technician.
This orientation sets the foundation for stronger collaboration among IAs and NIA in advancing sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
