NOIMO STARTS WATER DELIVERY FOR WET CROPPING SEASON

On May 1, 2022, the Negros Occidental Irrigation Management Office starts water delivery for wet cropping season in Bago and Pangiplan River Irrigation Systems.

The Bago River Irrigation System (BRIS) temporarily paused the delivery of water in the south District on March 1, 2022 to concentrate water delivery in the North District for its 3rd cropping season until April 30, 2022, while Pangiplan River Irrigation System (PRIS) was closed from April 1 to April 30, 2022. Annual closing of gates for suspension of water delivery is done to give way for annual clean up, desilting and minor repair works of irrigation canal and structures.

This year, NOIMO targets to irrigate 10,650 and 1,209.37 hectares for wet crop in BRIS and PRIS, respectively-
