Pototan, Iloilo – In a significant boost for the agricultural and fisheries sectors, the Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK), headed by its President and CEO, Ma. Lynette V. Ortiz held a roll-out for the AgriSenso Plus ASCEND (Agri-Fishery Support through Capability Enhancement for Nationwide Development) Program to empower farmers and fisherfolk in the province of Iloilo. One of the features of this program is the lowering of interest rates on loans for bona fide farmers and fisher folks.
The National Irrigation Administration Region VI, represented by Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres and NIA Iloilo-Guimaras IMO Division Manager Engr. Randy C. Alipis, is in attendance along with other partner agency officials, reflecting strong inter-agency participation.
Beyond loans, the ASCEND component provides capacity building through training in digital financial literacy, sustainable agriculture and fishery practices, and enterprise development, providing the Irrigators’ Associations and other agri-fishery associations with the skills to enhance their productivity and profitability.
