October 10, 2024 - A 2-day Multi-Partite Monitoring Team (MMT) meeting and monitoring for the Cabano Small Reservoir Irrigation (SRIP) is currently taking place at Guimaras Mountain Resort, Buenavista, Guimaras.
Members of the Cabano SRIP MMT, led by Ms. Catherine Ann L. Gaurana, MMT Chairperson from the Municipal Planning and Development Office of San Lorenzo, Guimaras, have gathered to review the findings and concerns identified in the previous meeting and to conduct on-site monitoring to assess the status of construction activities and inspect compliance with environmental standards.
The National Irrigation Administration Region VI, under the leadership of Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres, and NIA-Iloilo-Guimaras Irrigation Management Office Division Manager A, Engr. Randy C. Alipis, remains vigilant in monitoring the project's implementation.
The 875-million-peso Cabano SRIP is the largest irrigation project in the province of Guimaras, waiting to serve 861 hectares of 1,305 farmers.
