
The National Irrigation Administration Regional Office VI organized and led the 3-Day Meeting and Capacity Building Activity for the Panay River Basin Integrated Development Project Multi-Partite Monitoring Team on August 28-30, 2024 at the NIA Regional Office VI, Tacas, Jaro, Iloilo City.
On August 28, 2024, the team had a meeting to discuss key points such as project updates, MMT’s work and financial plan, and review of the Environmental Compliance Certificate. On the second and third day, the team immersed in lectures by resource speakers from the Environmental Management Board Region VI focused on essential environmental laws mandated by the agency. The team also conducted a site visit to the Jalaur River Multi-purpose Project in Calinog, Iloilo, to witness the project’s dams and be accustomed to the future developments of the PRBIDP.


The PRBIDP Multi-Partite Monitoring Team was officially organized on January 28, 2022, and is composed of representatives from NGOs, People’s organizations, LGUs, the religious sector, and the Irrigator’s Association. As stipulated in the Environmental Compliance Certificate of the PRBIDP, a Multi-Partite Monitoring Team shall be created to oversee project compliance, address relevant concerns, gather information, and submit timely MMT reports. Thus, necessary trainings are needed to ensure the efficacy of the MMT Team in delivering output.
