The National Irrigation Administration Regional Office VI is proud and congratulates the Pavia Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (PFAC), for being a fully registered cooperative in the province of Iloilo.
On April 30, 2024, the PFAC received the Certificate of Registration and the Certificate of Compliance in the Cooperative Development Authority Office, Leganes, Iloilo.
PFAC’s initial members are the members of PALACATI-AN Irrigators’ Association, Inc. with an area of 33 hectares. Before their registration, the officers and members have undergone orientation and the pre-registration seminar. Training on Fundamentals of Coop and Cooperative Governance and Strategic Planning is programmed to be conducted at PFAC this year to further capacitate the officers and members.
This achievement came after the visit of NIA Administrator Engr. Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen last year at the PALACATI-AN IA, Inc., after the conduct of Farmers Congress in Iloilo where he urged the farmers of the IA to form a cooperative to accelerate the economic development of the agricultural sector in Iloilo.
This establishment of PFAC was through the effort and collaboration of the agencies involving the National Irrigation Administration-Region VI led by Engr. Jonel B. Borres, Acting Regional Manager A along with Engr. Randy C. Alipis, Division Manager A of NIA-Iloilo-Guimaras Irrigation Management Office, the Local Government Unit of Pavia, Iloilo headed by the Hon. Mayor Laurence Anthony G. Gorriceta, Mr. Phil Roland Cabrera, Municipal Agriculturist of Pavia, and the Pavia Entrepreneurs Multipurpose Cooperative.
