Buy-ANI-han Market is NIA’s initiative program to help our local farmers sell their products fresh-from-the-farm directly to consumers. Without middlemen fees, farmers have increased earnings, and consumers save more by buying produce at a cheaper price point compared to supermarket offerings. The initiative is a total win-win situation for everyone, thus named, “Buy-ANI-han”.
On September 18, 2023, NIA Aklan-Capiz IMO in Mambusao, Capiz organized the Buy-ANI-han Market in the office compound and customers were able to purchase locally grown produce like vegetables, fruits, and other crops. With the full support of ACIMO’s Acting Division Manager, Engr. Raymond B. Mojares, Irrigators’ Association in the Province of Capiz and employees of the agency contributed to the success of the activity.
Poultry products, corn, eggplant, rambutan, bananas, kakanin, lanzones, papaya, string beans, and taro were some of the produce displayed on the pop-up market.
The program is part of NIA’s efforts to help farmers improve their lives beyond irrigation.
