FARM TO MARKET: Buy'ANI'han in NIA Regional Office VI Compound

The National Irrigation Administration's support for farmers does not end with irrigation service; produce from the Irrigator's Associations of NIA-Iloilo-Guimaras IMO were displayed in NIA Regional Office VI for employees to purchase through the Buy-ANI'han market.

The Buy'ANI'han Market helps the farmers by BUYing their "ANI" or harvest, as well as value-added products that they learned to produce from livelihood trainings.

The products displayed are lettuce, ampalaya, purple corn, tomato, squash, carrots, cucumbers, bananas, mangosteen, rambutan, danggit, squid, Kalabasa Candy, cassava slice, mushrooms, and vermicompost.

This initiative is in line with NIA Administrator Eddie G. Guillen's call to find ways to increase our farmers' income.

Farmers are able to sell their products at a higher price than the prevailing farm gate prices, while customers are able buy them at lower prices than supermarkets (creating a win-win solution).

More than that, this is a movement: a call for everyone to join the BAYANIHAN and support our local farmers.
