ENGR. CASTELLANO ASSUMES ANTIQUE MANAGEMENT AS ENGR. BASCO RETIRES

In line with the compulsory retirement of Engr. Ma. Elena T. Basco effective June 9, 2023, a Management Turnover Ceremony was conducted on June 2, 2023.

Engr. Bernard N. Castellano will takeover as Acting Division Manager. Engr. Castellano has been with NIA for more than three decades. He started as utility worker in Iloilo PIO and rose from the ranks. Currently he is a Principal Engineer A assigned in Negros Occidental IMO until his reassignment as Acting Division Manager in Antique IMO.

“With all these experiences and support from all of you, I can say I am ready to move on to the next level of my career and I am proud and humbled to accept this challenge to be the Acting Division Manager of Antique IMO. I will do my best to lead the ANIMO Family to be on top not only in terms of project implementation and area development but as highest production as well. We will sustain and maintain the good practices of this office and work as a team for the betterment of Antique IMO and NIA as a whole.” Engr. Castellano enthused.

Engr. Ma. Elena T. Basco on the other hand said, “My 43 years of service to NIA, I have met simple people who became great in their endeavor and I have witnessed great NIAns who left the Agency with heavy hearts also failed. I have seen the ups and downs of this Agency – the glory and golden days of irrigation days- and I thank God for these priveleges. I came imperfect so so I will leave the same. As such, always remember this, nobody perfect will come. Whoever will come, you all must support. Too much expectations will only cause you pain. So, expect less but work best.”

Present during the Ceremony were Engr. Rory F. Avance, Regional Manager A, Engr. Ropertino O. Lapeña, Division Manager, EOD, Ms. Lyn Grace B. Causing, Division Manager, AFS, Regional Section Chiefs, Division Managers from different IMOs and employees.
