BAGO RIS - SOUTH DISTRICT WELCOMES HARVEST SEASON OF CY 2022 DRY CROP

The Bago RIS (BRIS) – South District greets 2022 with a bountiful harvest from dry cropping season that started October last year and will end within March of this year. The South District has 22 IAs (covering the municipalities of Valladolid, San Enrique and Pulupandan, and the cities of La Carlota and part of Bago) with a FUSA of 6,142.38 hectares and actual irrigated area of 5,392.29 hectares for this season.

With the help of agricultural machineries donated by the Province of Negros Occidental and “seeds subsidy” from the Department of Agriculture, the production time was shortened and harvest season is indeed showing great yields to the farmers. The Negros Occidental IMO joined the stakeholders in their happiest moment, a manifestation of hope amidst the pandemic.
