The National Irrigation Administration Employees Association of the Philippines (NIAEASP) led by its National President, Eduardo G. Yu, celebrated its 35th anniversary on May 25-27, 2022 in Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.
The Anniversary, themed “NIAEASP: Staying United and Strong for the Good of NIA and Its Employees”, held a virtual forum for all members with Civil Service Commission (CSC) Commissioner Aileen Lourdes A. Lizada as the guest speaker.
Commissioner Lizada entertained questions from the members of the association nationwide, which ranged from employee benefits and the commissioner’s advocacies on GSIS survivorship benefits, institutionalizing flexible working time, and 4-day-work-week to reduce expenses on fuel and transportation fare.
Part of the anniversary celebration was the Outreach Program to the Boracay Ati Community on May 25, 2022, where 51 families from the Indigenous Peoples received grocery items worth Php 1,000.00.
Deputy Administrator for Administrative and Finance, Ralph Lauren A. Du joined the celebration and outreach program, where he and his family donated financial assistance to the Ati Community.
IP Chieftain, Delsa Justo, thanked the association for choosing their community as the recipient. According to her, their community is always grateful to all organizations that extend help to them. She also expressed that their tribe, with the guidance and assistance from the nuns of Daughters of Charity, is slowly gaining its footing in society and has in fact produced 4 professionals, including professional educators. They are proud of their progress through the help they receive from donors.
NIAEASP District Council VI, headed by its Council President, Mrs. Maritess M. Bolinas hosted the event. The officers of NIAEASP District Council VI, NIAEASP Chapter VI, and Officers from NIAEASP IMO Chapters attended and supported the successful conduct of the anniversary event.
