NIA VI REPAIRS AND REFINES THE IGCABITTON CIS

The Igcabitoon Communal Irrigation System (CIS) will now continue to serve irrigation water as the National Irrigation Administration completed the repair of its Diversion Dam after it was damaged by Typhoon Paeng in October 2022.

Through the effort of the NIA-Iloilo-Guimaras Irrigation Management Office headed by Division Manager A, Engr. Randy C. Alipis, and the support of Acting Regional Manager A, Engr. Jonel B. Borres, the 7-million-peso repair works of the CIS in Brgy. Igcabitoon, Miagao, Iloilo, was made successful on December 29, 2023. Today, the Igcabitoon CIS is fully operational, serving 30 hectares of farmland and allowing 37 farmers to improve their agricultural production.

The project shows the dedication of the NIA to fulfilling its commitment to providing sustainable irrigation services to Filipino farmers.
