
The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Regional Office VI successfully conducted its first official disposal of valueless records on May 9, 2025, at the NIA VI Compound, Tacas, Jaro, Iloilo City. This initiative was carried out in accordance with the guidelines set by the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP), specifically concerning the proper disposal of documents that have reached the end of their prescribed retention period.
Personnel from the Administrative Section carefully reviewed and identified records dated from 1963 to 2015 that were deemed valueless. These documents were certified for disposal by the National Archives of the Philippines.

The landfill disposal process was witnessed by key officials, including Division Manager for Administrative and Finance, Ms. Lyn Grace B. Causing; Administrative Services Officer V, Ms. Maritess M. Bolinas; Commission on Audit State Auditor III, Ms. Mary Elma Chen; and NAP Records Management Analyst I, Mr. Neil C. Desamparado, alongside other regional office personnel.
This activity marks a significant step toward responsible records management and the continual improvement of administrative efficiency.
