On December 3, 2021, National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Iloilo-Guimaras Irrigation Management Office (IGIMO) has completed a 2.7Million solar pump project that aims to irrigate fourteen (14) hectares of agricultural land in the municipality of Sara, Iloilo.
The project includes the construction of 132 meters canal structures that would provide irrigation to ten (10) farmer beneficiaries who had been poorly irrigated and are in rain-fed areas.
Moreover, the NIA-IGIMO completed the two solar irrigation projects allocated for CY 2021 in the provinces of Iloilo and Guimaras.
With the completion of solar pump projects, NIA remains adaptive to the innovations in providing irrigation services to Filipino farmers.
