
NIA Regional Office VI victoriously received multiple awards in the recently concluded 2nd Semester CY 2023 Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Assessment cum Institutional Development Program (IDP) Implementers’ Congress in Royce Hotel, Clark, Pampanga on January 9 to 12, 2024.
The event was headed by the NIA Institutional Development Division (IDD), hosted by NIA Regional Office III, and attended by selected IDP implementers from all over the Philippines. Operations Acting Department Manager Engr. Eusebio S. Villamanto, OIC Deputy Administrator for Engineering and Operations Sector Engr. Josephine B. Salazar, and Acting Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen graced the event to show their utter support towards the objectives of EPAHP and the roles of IDP implementers to achieve them.
Administrator Guillen also acknowledged the pivotal role played by the IDP implementers in empowering the IAs and executing programs aimed at enhancing the lives of farmers and increasing agricultural productivity.
IDP Implementers convened to present notable accomplishments of their region in terms of the EPAHP program. Through audio-visual presentations, representatives from regional offices showcased their IDP implementations, convergence programs, best practices, and innovations to combat the pressing challenges in food security and agriculture.



NIA Regional Office VI under the leadership of Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres and through its Institutional Development Section led by Community Relations Chief B Ms. Joy A. Babiera emerged as one of the most awarded regions, bagging four awards. The office received recognition for the most number of value-added trainings conducted, 4th highest EPAHP sales in the IA Category, 3rd highest EPAHP sales in the National Category, and 2nd Best Audio Visual Presentation. In addition, Institutional Development Officers represented the office in the Singing IDO-L (Leslie Tercido) which won 4th place, and Mr. and Ms. NIA IDP (Riz Ralph Sapungan, and Patricia Jenna Otero) competitions.
Through data-driven innovation and initiatives, NIA commits to alleviating the lives of farmers and improving the nation’s agricultural productivity.
