NIA Region VI has achieved a significant milestone by successfully passing the reassessment of its Final Regional Irrigation Master Plans (RIMPs) for 2023-2030. The reassessment, led by Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres, was a rigorous evaluation process aimed at ensuring that the plans align with national priorities and adhere to feedback from previous workshops.
During the reassessment, the NIA Region VI RIMP Team presented the finalized plans to a Review Panel comprising experts from the NIA Central Office Corporate Planning Services, Engineering Department, Operations Department, the Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (BAFE), and the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM). The panel's role was to assess the plans' completeness, alignment with the approved outline, and readiness for implementation.
The successful reassessment marks a crucial step forward in preparing the RIMPs for the next phase: presentation to NIA Top Management and key stakeholders, including BAFE and BSWM. Once approved, the RIMPs will be implemented across Region VI, with the goal of enhancing irrigation infrastructure and supporting agricultural productivity. The plans will also be submitted to the NIA Board for final review and endorsement.
This achievement underscores NIA Region VI’s commitment to advancing irrigation development and supporting sustainable agriculture in the region.
