
Laurel, Batangas - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VI, under the leadership of Regional Manager A Engr. Jonel B. Borres, has once again earned national recognition, placing second in sales performance under the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) program for Calendar Year 2024.
The award was conferred during the NIA-IA Congress 2025, held from April 1 to 3 in Laurel, Batangas. This marks the third consecutive year that the NIA Region VI has been recognized nationally for its outstanding EPAHP accomplishments.
The event gathered Irrigators’ Associations (IA) leaders, key personnel from NIA regional offices nationwide, and representatives from various national agencies. Participants shared insights, programs, and strategies aimed at addressing ongoing challenges in the irrigation and agriculture sectors.

Representing Region VI at the congress were IA leaders headed by Regional Confederation President Mr. Joseph Renato Amponin, along with Institutional Development Program (IDP) implementers from various provinces under the supervision of Community Relations Chief B Ms. Joy A. Babiera, and EPAHP focal person Mr. Leonard Salonga.
This recognition reflects the unwavering commitment of NIA Region VI to empower farmers, deliver reliable service, and advance food security and sustainability across Western Visayas.
