To ensure the timely completion and quality implementation of the Bayuyan Small River Irrigation Project (SRIP), National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VI Regional Manager, Engr. Jonel B. Borres conducted an on-site inspection in President Roxas, Capiz, on June 19, 2025.
The Bayuyan SRIP is designed to deliver year-round irrigation to local farming communities in President Roxas, significantly boosting agricultural productivity. Beyond irrigation, the project also aims to provide vital incidental benefits, including flood control and mitigation, environmental and watershed management, support for housing and resettlement initiatives, agro-tourism development, and opportunities for aquaculture.
Targeting a service area of 594 hectares and benefiting 540 farmers across eight barangays, the Bayuyan SRIP is expected to transform local agriculture and contribute to the socio-economic development of the municipality.
