NIA REGION VI ACQUIRES NEW O&M EQUIPMENT UNDER THIRD TRANCHE OF RE-FLEETING PROGRAM

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VI, led by Regional Manager A, Engr. Jonel B. Borres received fifteen (15) brand-new Operations and Maintenance (O&M) equipment and vehicles as part of the third tranche of NIA’s Re-fleeting Program.

• 2 units Self-Loading Truck

• 3 units of Backhoe Loader

• 1 unit Toyota Coaster

• 1 unit Toyota Tamaraw (Box Type)

• 7 units of mini dump truck

• 1 unit motor grader

As part of its ongoing commitment to enhance and modernize irrigation services, the National Irrigation Administration, led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Administrator Engr. Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen officially turned over a total of 229 units of O&M equipment and vehicles nationwide, valued at PHP 799.568 million. RM Engr. Borres, together with the NIA VI Equipment Management Section headed by Principal Engineer C Engr. Peter Renier A. Darroca, accepted the equipment in the ceremonial turnover on June 2, 2025.

The newly acquired equipment will be deployed to support and improve O&M activities across Western Visayas—an essential step toward boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring more efficient irrigation service delivery in the region.
