The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Regional Office VI, headed by Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres, participated in the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair in Guimbal, Iloilo on December 9-10, 2023, as one of the government service providers.
The event serves as a platform for government agencies, including NIA, to interact with beneficiaries, disseminate information, and foster collaboration for the effective delivery of services. NIA RVI took the opportunity to engage with the beneficiaries, disseminate information about irrigation programs, and address concerns or queries, especially concerning irrigation and the availability of the Free Irrigation Service Act as per Republic Act 10696.
The NIA Regional Office VI’s 22 pre-identified beneficiaries of the FISA as represented by their Federation Presidents received a Certificate of Exemption in the Payment of Irrigation Service Fee from the House Speaker himself, Hon. Martin Romualdez. Along with the certificates is the condonation of ISF back accounts amounting to Php 25,631,737.82.
