
October 15, 2024 - To have a thorough assessment of the status of implementation and to ensure compliance with the plans and specifications of the largest irrigation project in the province of Guimaras, a team from the NIA Central Office led by Deputy Administrator for Engineering and Operations, Engr. C’zar M. Sulaik conducted a site inspection and validation of the Cabano Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) in Brgy. Aguilar, San Lorenzo, Guimaras.
Accompanied by key personnel from the NIA Region VI headed by Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres and NIA Iloilo-Guimaras IMO Division Manager Engr. Randy C. Alipis. The team from the NIA Central Office was composed of Deputy Administrator Engr. C’zar M. Sulaik, Acting Manager of Engineering Department Engr. Reyne B. Ugay, Acting Manager of Design and Specifications Engr. Ariel S. Najera, Supervising Engineer A Engr. Lawrence C. Mosqueda, and Senior Engineer A Engr. Joshua C. Datol visited the construction site of the Cabano SRIP.

The project implementation of the Cabano SRIP started on March 23, 2022, with a groundbreaking ceremony and is considered the largest irrigation project in the Province of Guimaras. Once completed, the Cabano SRIP is expected to benefit 1,304 farmer-beneficiaries.
The team will also conduct an inspection of the Bayuyan SRIP in the Province of Capiz and to conclude the activity, the team will hold an exit conference on October 18, 2024.
