March 5, 2024 - The Radyo Bago 101.7 FM featured the National Irrigation Administration – Negros Occidental Irrigation Management Office (NOIMO) in its Agri Kita Bagonhon segment. The NIA-NOIMO Division Manager A Engr. Isaias C. Melendez represented the office as a guest speaker in their March 5, 2024 episode wherein Engr. Melendez discussed the NIA’s measures to counter and mitigate the negative impacts of the El Niño phenomenon.
Engr. Melendez answered questions sent by live listeners and viewers of the program about the Free Irrigation Service Act (FISA). In addition, he also presented the NIA’s target for the 3rd cropping season and the various assistance of the office to the Irrigators’ Associations such as remuneration, incentives, convergence and contract farming.
The program hosts, Ms. Mirasol L. Coste and Mr. Roberto T. Juarana Jr., expressed their appreciation towards the NIA and Engr. Melendez for their active participation in the program and clarifying queries from the general public.
