NIA CELEBRATES STAKEHOLDERS AT ITS 61ST ANNIVERSARY

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) celebrated its 61st anniversary since its foundation in 1963 at the NIA Central Office, Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila.

With the theme “NIA at BBM (Bagong Bayaning Magsasaka) Tungo Sa Makabagong Pilipinas”, the week-long celebration was attended by regional and project management offices from all over the Philippines. The NIA Regional Office VI also took part in the anniversary and joined the friendly competition Mr. and Ms. NIA and Duet Singing Competition.

Mr. and Ms. NIA were represented by Mr. John Raffy Hilario of the Regional Office and Ms. Clarynce Ada Concepcion of Aklan-Capiz IMO. Mr. Hilario was among the Top 8 best contestants for the male category and Ms. Concepcion was crowned as the 2nd runner-up in the female category of the competition.

 

The office was also represented by Ms. Danielle Pijuan and Ms. Faye Camille Herbolario from the Regional Office in the duet singing competition where they were victorious in winning 1st runner-up out of the 18 competitors from other regions.

Awards were also given to different Irrigator’s Associations and offices as a commendation for their work and perseverance.

With the core responsibility of managing and developing irrigation systems, the NIA also recognizes the value of camaraderie and enjoyment of stakeholders that make up the agency. On its 61st Anniversary, the NIA vows to consistently serve the farmers and create sustainable irrigation solutions to cultivate the Philippines’ agriculture landscape.
