NIA AKLAN-CAPIZ IMO PROMORED SUSTAINABLE FARMING THROUGH ORGANIC AND HYDROPONIC TRAINING

Demonstrating its commitment to agricultural development, the National Irrigation Administration – Aklan-Capiz Irrigation Management Office (NIA-ACIMO) extended its services beyond irrigation by spearheading a Training on Organic Crop Production and Basic Hydroponic Food Production. The two-day capacity-building initiative was held on June 19–20, 2025, at the NIA-ACIMO Compound in Linabuan Sur, Banga, Aklan.

The training conducted by NIA-Aklan-Capiz IMO was successfully led by its Institutional Development Officers, with farm owner Mr. Alvin Arellano Barrios Jr. serving as the keynote speaker. He shared valuable insights on organic farming and hydroponics, highlighting sustainable techniques and innovations. Participants, including IA members and local farmers, the experienced and young generations, gained practical knowledge aimed at improving productivity, nutrition, and income. The initiative reflects NIA-ACIMO’s commitment to climate-resilient agriculture and rural development, going beyond its core mandate of irrigation.
