
Negros Occidental Irrigation Management Office (NOIMO) headed by Engr. Isaias C. Melendez, Division Manager A, conducted an Irrigators’ Association Coordinating Council (IACC) formation for the six (6) Communal Irrigation Systems of Bago City yesterday, Nov. 7, 2023, at the NOIMO Conference Room.
The IACC Formation aims to foster collaboration among IAs, facilitate the exchange of best practices and knowledge sharing, advocate for sustainable water management policies, improve emergency response coordination, enhance financial stability, and discuss the draft for the NIA Devolution Plan and formulate Action Plan for CY 2024.
In his message, Engr. Melendez emphasized that collaboration among NIA, LGU and other line agencies will create a greater impact on the farmers. Mr. Roberto T. Juarana, Jr., an Agricultural Technician from the City of Bago gave assurance that the LGU will give its full support to the IAs. He also encouraged the IAs to invite the LGU in their meetings.
The six (6) IAs are APABCO Farmers IA Inc., Buenavista Bago City IA Inc., Pataan IA Inc., Purok Kapihan Tabidiao IA Inc., Pasiflo IA Inc., and Nacalang Farm Workers ABD ARB IA Inc.
