Tapaz, Capiz - July 4, 2023 – The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VI and the Local Government of Tapaz, Capiz, officially inked the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the Panay River Basin Integrated Development Project (PRBIDP). The signing ceremony took place at the Municipal Hall of Tapaz, symbolizing the collaboration between both entities to enhance the region's infrastructure and agricultural development.
Hon. Mayor Roberto O. Palomar, NIA VI Regional Manager Engr. Rory F. Avance, NIA VI Division Manager for Engineering and Operations Engr. Robertino O. Lapeña, and Municipal Engineer Victorio J. Jimenez signed the MOA for the Restoration and Construction of Access Roads and Drainage Crossing of PRBIDP, with a stipulated project duration of 180 calendar days.
During his address, Mayor Palomar reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and fiscal prudence. He assured that the funds allocated to the Tapaz LGU would be handled with utmost care and accountability. Mayor Palomar also pledged to oversee the implementation of the project personally, emphasizing his dedication to upholding the highest standards of integrity throughout the undertaking.
The NIA Region VI Bids and Awards Committee Members and the Tapaz LGU Department Heads and staff were also present to witness the event.
