
Driven by the commendable dedication of NIA Administrator Engr. Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen to support Filipino farmers in irrigation, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Aklan-Capiz Irrigation Management Office (ACIMO) held its Midyear Project Implementation Assessment on July 12, 2024, in Mambusao, Capiz. The assessment aimed to enhance office performance and project outcomes, ultimately benefiting the farmers of Aklan and Capiz through improved irrigation infrastructure projects.
The event saw the participation of NIA-Region VI personnel, including full support from Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres. The assessment included contributions from the Engineering and Operations Division, led by Acting Division Manager Engr. Rebecca F. Grana, and the Finance Section, headed by Ms. Mary Ann Santander. Together, they evaluated the progress of ongoing projects, tackled challenges, and strategized for the remaining months of the year.

Engr. Raymond B. Mojares, Division Manager of ACIMO, opened the event with a welcome address, emphasizing the importance of the midyear assessment for the effective implementation of irrigation projects critical to the agricultural sector in Aklan and Capiz. He expressed gratitude to the team for their dedication and hard work during the first half of the year.
Engr. Julieta E. Gallardo, Chief of the Engineering and Operations Section of ACIMO concluded the event where she summarized the key points of the assessment and reminded project leaders of their commitments for the rest of the year.
The midyear assessment was a vital initiative for ensuring the successful completion of irrigation projects in Aklan and Capiz. Through addressing challenges, optimizing resources, and engaging stakeholders, ACIMO aims to boost agricultural productivity and improve the livelihoods of farmers in the region.
