The NIA Regional Office VI PR team and Negros-Occidental IMO held an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activity to the areas and communities covered by the Tyabanan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) in Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.
The Tyabanan SRIP is classified as a priority project of the National Irrigation Administration and once it becomes operational, it will irrigate 2,087 hectares of farmland in the Municipality of Hinoba-an and parts of Sipalay which will increase farmers’ productivity and bolster food security in the province.
With the full support of Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres, and NIA NOIMO newly designated Acting Division Manager Engr. Edna L. Señadoza and former Division Manager Engr. Isaias C. Melendez, NIA RVI Public

Relations Officer A Ms. Danielle P. Pijuan and NIA NOIMO Supervising Engineer Siegfred Emilia led the IEC activity along with the collaborative effort of key personnel from both offices.
One of the primary goals of the IEC activity was to disseminate vital information about the Tyabanan SRIP to the concerned communities. This included providing insights into the project's objectives, its timeline for completion, and the anticipated benefits for local farmers. By fostering a deeper understanding of the project among stakeholders, the NIA aims to build trust and garner support from the grassroots level.
