IA CONGRESS OF ARFIA HIGHLIGHTS SOLUTIONS FOR IMPROVED IRRGATION MANAGEMENT

Farmers from different Irrigators’ Associations (IA) of the Aganan River Federation of Irrigators’ Associations (ARFIA) gathered at the IA Congress in the ARFIA Training Center in Brgy. Mambog, Oton, Iloilo, to address issues in water management. The event highlighted strategies for addressing challenges such as water scarcity and irrigation development.

A collaboration with the farmers was developed, with the National Irrigation Administration represented by Engr. Randy C. Alipis, Division Manager A of NIA-Iloilo-Guimaras Irrigation Management Office, and the Local Government Unit of Oton represented by Mr. Eusebio Villavicencio, the Municipal Administrator. They presented joint initiatives to solve challenges faced by the farmers and discussed strategies to enhance their livelihoods.

In his message, Engr. Randy C. Alipis highlighted the importance of convergence between IAs, LGUs, and other partner agencies in addressing the needs of the farmers in agricultural development.

Mr. Franz Jason Baltazar, President of ARFIA, expressed his gratitude for the continued support of the NIA, LGUs, and other agencies in making an effort to bring their association to where they are today.
