The National Irrigation Administration Antique - IMO, together with the local government unit (LGU) represented by Mayor Johnnyflores C. Bacongallo of Patnongon and with Mr. Raymundo Roquero of Anak Kalusugan Partylist, assisted in a turnover ceremony for the completion of contract works for the Restoration of Closed Conduit with Riverbank Protection in Durog, Patnongon CIS, on June 26, 2024. This project, aimed at supporting local farmers, marks a crucial step towards enhancing agricultural infrastructure and environmental sustainability in the region.
The restored closed conduit system ensures a reliable water supply, essential for maximizing crop yields and securing livelihoods in the area dependent on agriculture.
Additionally, the provision of riverbank protection spanning 80 meters safeguards against erosion, as the area is prone to flooding, especially during the rainy season. This collaborative effort exemplifies the commitment to community welfare, sustainable development, and agriculture in Patnongon, Antique.
