FARMERS HONORED DURING FARMERS' FIELD DAY

National Farmers’ Day is commemorated to recognize the unsung heroes who toil under the heat and rain to cultivate the crops that feed us. It is also an opportunity to express our gratitude to the farmers while also recognizing the challenges they face and the advances they bring to agriculture.

On October 26, 2023, NIA-ACIMO joined the celebration of Farmers’ Field Day in Ivisan, Capiz. Engr. Raymond B. Mojares, ACIMO’s Acting Division Manager, extended his support, gratitude, and honor to the farmers who were represented by Ms. Melanie Llorico, Sr. IDO of ACIMO- Mambusao, Capiz.

Hon. Felipe Neri Yap, Municipality Mayor of Ivisan, Capiz gave his speech of gratitude to all farmers. The Provincial Director of Capiz PPO-PCOL Jerome D Afuyog, Jr. was the event’s resource speaker where he shared his experiences as a farmer prior to his present profession.

Representatives from other agencies, NGOs and LGU, also participated and joined the said event. Activities such as this, helps farmers improve their productivity and sustainability by displaying best practices, showing cutting-edge technologies, and addressing common concerns. A field walk took place within the property of Ms. Emilia O. Olisco, who unselfishly opened her area to make the event possible.

This reminds us to honor the farmers’ vital contributions and work to maintain a resilient and prosperous agricultural industry, not only during Farmers' Field Day but every day.
