
A validation and thorough inspection of the Bayuyan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) was conducted by the National Irrigation Administration in Bayuyan, President Roxas, Capiz on February 14, 2024.
The inspection was led by Engr. Ferdinand G. Sales, Acting Manager of CMD-ED; Engr. Cynthia C. Riñosa, Acting Head of CPSS, CMD-ED; Engr. Rolando S. Rodriquez, Jr., Principal Engineer A of CAS, CMD-ED; and Engr. Jay-R M. Agustin, Project Resident Engineer of Bayuyan SRIP.
As one of the major projects in the region under the leadership of the NIA RVI Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres, and the NIA Aklan-Capiz IMO’s Division Manager Engr. Raymond B. Mojares, the inspection of the project shows the NIA’s active dedication to assuring quality in the development of sustainable agricultural water management projects. The consistent monitoring of the project is an example of responsible irrigation project construction by addressing different issues and regulatory compliance.
Significant aspects of the project were evaluated during the inspection of the Bayuyan SRIP, including the equipment, manpower, actual physical accomplishments, and compliance with the regulatory requirements. This is to help ensure the reliability, stability, and effectiveness of the said project for the betterment of agriculture in the Province of Capiz.
The Bayuyan SRIP is a foundation for future development activities focused on improving water security, agricultural production, and flood control. Through the implementation of proactive upkeep practices and regular inspections, beneficiaries are assured of the integrity of the project and maximization of its benefits for future generations to come.
