The former Operations Chief of NIA Regional Office VI, Engr. Asil S. Areño retires from service after 41 years of love and dedication to NIA.
Before serving as the Principal Engineer C of NIA Region VI, Engr. Areño served as an employee of NIA Region X at the Bukidnon Provincial Irrigation Office for 11 years. She was then transferred to NIA Region VI as Engineer A, where she served for the remainder of her career.
A simple retirement program “Salamat-Mabuhay, Engr. Asil Areño” was held on December 22, 2022, at the NIA Regional Office Gym to give appreciation and recognition for her invaluable service.
A Loyalty Plaque was awarded to her by the NIA Region VI as well as a Plaque of Appreciation was awarded to her by the NIA Employees Association of the Philippines Chapter VI for having served as the Vice President of the Council.
Regional Manager Rory F. Avance, Section Chiefs of the Regional Office, and the Regional Office employees attended the program. Engr. Areño’s husband Prof. Rizal Areño, her daughter Atty. Rizelle Joy Areño-Jungco, and son-in-law Atty. Rudiver Jungco also graced the event.
Her staff at the Operations Section delivered warm messages for her and well wishes for the next chapter of her life.
In response, Engr. Areño thanked NIA for her employment and career. She expressed her gratefulness to the agency as well as to the management of NIA Region VI for coming up with an event to celebrate the end of her career.
