May 31, 2024 - The NIA Regional Office VI, led by Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres, conducted an Information Management Training focusing on Cybersecurity Awareness, Data Privacy, and PNPKI Orientation. The training took place at the NFA Western Visayas Regional Office in Quintin Salas, Jaro, Iloilo City.
Personnel responsible for handling vital information and data attended the training, which was organized by the NIA VI’s Administrative section under the leadership of Administrative Services Officer V, Ms. Maritess M. Bolinas. Ms. Bolinas highlighted the training's importance in addressing competency gaps and enhancing employees' knowledge of modern data management and awareness.
With the active cooperation of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region VI-Western Visayas, NIA VI employees deepened their understanding of cybersecurity awareness through a presentation by Planning Assistant Mr. Ernesto Kalaw, data privacy by Administrative Officer III Mr. Elvin C. Bautista, and Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) by Planning Officer II Engr. Joshua B. Mellada.
The NIA VI recognizes the critical role of data in delivering public services. By providing training that enhances employees’ capabilities, the agency ensures its staff remain informed about the latest data management practices, thereby improving operational efficiency.
