Embracing the Rich Heritage of the Panay Bukidnon Indigenous People

Beyond assessing the social, environmental, and cultural impact of the Panay River Basin Integrated Development Project, our Social, Environmental, and Cultural Impact Assessment (SECIA) Team in Tapaz, Capiz took a moment to embrace the rich heritage of the Panay Bukidnon Indigenous People!

While conducting interviews with project-affected communities, the team had the privilege of donning traditional Panay Bukidnon attire, exquisitely crafted by Ms. Nida Katipunan, one of the esteemed IP Elders of Tapaz, Capiz.

This experience was more than just wearing beautiful garments—it was an opportunity to immerse in the culture, connect with the people, and appreciate their way of life. Social work goes beyond data gathering; it’s about building trust, understanding perspectives, and celebrating traditions. And yes, even in serious work, there’s always room for a little fun!
