EFFICIENT DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT: NIA VI HOLDS ORIENTATION ONTHE MAINTENANCE AND RETENTION OF DOCUMENTS

May 9, 2024 - The NIA Regional Office VI organized an Orientation on the Maintenance and Retention of Documents for Document Controllers at the Regional Development Council Hall, NEDA Region VI, Iloilo City.

Under the direct supervision of Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres, the activity was spearheaded by the office’s Administrative Section led by Administrative Services Officer V Ms. Maritess M. Bolinas and key personnel from the section.

Administrative and Finance Division Manager Ms. Lyn Grace B. Causing welcomed the participants from the regional office, Iloilo-Guimaras IMO, Antique IMO, Aklan-Capiz IMO, Jalaur River Multi-purpose Project Stage II, and resource speakers from the NIA Central Office. She highlighted that the office is grateful to the NIA top management for the activity and resource speakers as it will instill new knowledge to the participants which is crucial in managing documented information and ensuring accuracy. Ms. Maritess M. Bolinas gave the rationale for the activity and also expressed her gratitude to the resource speakers for accepting the invitation despite their busy schedules.

 

From the NIA Central Office, Sr. Administrative Assistant III Mr. Eliezer I. Rodillas discussed the Roles and Responsibilities of Records/Document Controllers in the organization, and the NIA’s Issuances Pertaining to Documented Information. Supervising Records Officer Mr. Enrico U. Buenaluz emphasized the importance and ways of the proper Retention of Records. In addition, Records Officer B Ms. Maria Luisa A. Frias spoke about Record Disposal to secure the right process. Lastly, the Division Manager of MID-Corporate Planning Services Ms. Sussie T. Taniegra, and Data Controller IV Mr Rence Michael M. Lanuza discussed the Maintenance and Procedures of Documented Information.

As the world becomes more and more digitized, the National Irrigation Administration recognizes the significance of safeguarding documents that support the office’s management and vital operations. Through activities like this, key NIA personnel have the opportunity to enhance and gain new knowledge on work processes to better serve the public.
