The farmers of Jalaur River Extension Federation of Irrigators' Associations (IA) in the province of Iloilo harvest their first produce from the model farm.
Amidst the pandemic, these will help them venture into other high-value crops aside from rice to increase their income and at the same time utilize spaces available in their places.
The first harvest of pechay was witnessed by the National Irrigation Administration led by the Engineering and Operations Division Manager, Engr. Robertino O. Lapeña, with Ms. Joy A. Babiera, Community Relations Chief B, Engr. Raymond B. Mojares, Principal Engineer C. and Ms. Melchorita A. Octiva, Sr. IDO.
The IA Model farm showcases and reflects the cooperation of NIA & IA from preparation to
harvest.
