CIVIL ENGINEERING STUDENTS COMPLETE ON-THE-JOB TRAINING AT ANTIQUE IMO

“We are more than willing to train future engineers. This is giving back to the community. This is another achievement for Antique IMO. May all the experiences, skills, knowledge and learnings you gained from this office hone you to be better individuals. Always remember that making an impact, however small it may seem, will be always be rewarding,” Engr. Ma. Elena T. Basco, Acting Division Manager stressed during the last day of their On-the-Job Training.

Nine Civil Engineering students, four from St. Anthony’s College (SAC) and five from the University of Antique (UA) underwent 240 hours of training. Engr. Harni B. Jungco, Engineer A supervised the students. Part of their training included preparation of estimates, design and field exposure in surveying and project construction.

“We are grateful for the opportunity given by Antique IMO. During the pandemic, it was difficult for us to fully understand our lessons. What we have learned theoretically during our online classes, we were able to finally put into actual practice during our OJT. We were able to participate in actual surveys and observe construction processes. We gained not only knowledge and skills but we also experienced to travel to different municipalities in Antique,” Genevee Blancia, CE student from SAC shared.

Engr. Harni B. Jungco advised, “You may have gained all the knowledge and skills but always bear in mind to have the right attitude! As engineers, be open minded. Learn to be multitaskers. Do not forget what you have learned from your Antique IMO Family. What you have achieved and will achieve in the future will always make us proud!”
