FROM CANALS TO COMMUNITIES: NIA AKLAN-CAPIZ IMO CELEBRATES NIAEASP ANNIVERSARY WITH A PURPOSE

In line with this year’s theme, “Working Together, Growing Stronger,” the National Irrigation Administration – Aklan-Capiz Irrigation Management Office (NIA-Aklan-Capiz IMO) actively participated in the 38th Founding Anniversary of the National Irrigation Administration Employees Association for Solidarity and Progress (NIAEASP) on May 20, 2025.

Spearheaded by Division Manager Engr. Raymond B. Mojares, together with Chapter President Mr. Walter Mendoza, ACIMO’s NIEASP officers, and the rest of the office staff, the team took part in the nationwide simultaneous celebration by organizing activities that highlighted the spirit of solidarity, community service, and compassion.

The day’s events began with a clean-up drive along the Mambusao River Irrigation System (RIS) – Main Canal, which was conducted in collaboration with the Irrigators Association (IA) Presidents and officers of PASIMPOBA and PAMPBU IAs. This joint effort aimed to promote environmental responsibility and maintain the efficiency of the irrigation system crucial to local farmers.

Following the clean-up, a gift-giving activity was held, extending help to five indigent individuals from the local community, providing them with essential goods as a gesture of care and solidarity.

Similar activities were also carried out earlier on May 16, 2025, by the Aklan personnel of the same office. They conducted a clean-up along Aklan RIS – East Lateral A-1 in the Mataphao area, with active participation from the GM IA. Once again, five identified indigents from the area were invited and received gifts from the NIA staff.

These activities not only marked the celebration of NIAEASP’s 28th anniversary but also reinforced the agency’s commitment to public service, community involvement, and collective progress. Through these simple yet meaningful actions, NIA-Aklan-Capiz IMO continues to embody the values of compassion and unity, core principles that uplift lives and strengthen the bond between the agency and the communities it serves.
