Members of the Cabano Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (CSRIP) Multi-partite Monitoring Team (MMT) recently conducted a benchmarking activity at the Jalaur River Multi-purpose Project Stage II (JRMP II) in the municipality of Calinog, Iloilo. The activity aimed to allow the MMT to gather insights on the best practices of the largest irrigation initiative outside Luzon, particularly on implementation and environmental protection, to apply to Cabano SRIP.
Following the benchmarking at JRMP II, the team conducted on-site monitoring at Cabano SRIP and held the 1st quarter meeting on March 21, 2025, where they discussed their observations, addressed issues, and made recommendations.
The 2-day activity of the MMT, chaired by Ms. Catherine Ann L. Gaurana, Municipal Planning and Development Officer of the Municipality of San Lorenzo, Guimaras, highlighted their commitment to ensuring the project implementation aligned to the environmental protection standards for a sustainable irrigation development for the farmers in the province of Guimaras.
