
The Cabano Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) Multi-partite Monitoring Team (MMT) commenced a 2-day 4th Quarter MMT Meeting and Monitoring in Brgy. Aguilar, San Lorenzo, Guimaras on November 21-22, 2024.
Led by the NIA Regional Office VI and Iloilo-Guimaras IMO, the meeting was held in compliance with the provisions outlined in the ECC issued by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) for the NIA’s Cabano Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) implementation. The team Chaired by MPDO of the Municipality of San Lorenzo Ms. Catherine Ann L. Gaurana, Co-Chaired by OIC-PENRO of the Province of Guimaras Mr. Louie L. Laud, members from Guimaras Wind Corp, CAMASANAG IA, DPWH, and barangay captains of Cabano, Cabungahan, Suclaran, Aguilar, M Chavez, and San Enrique discussed key points during the meeting and conducted a site visit to assess the status of the CABANO SRIP.

Division Manager A of the NIA Iloilo-Guimaras IMO Engr. Randy C. Alipis graced the meeting and expressed his gratitude to the MMT Members for taking the time to attend and collaborate towards the development of the CABANO SRIP.
On the second day, the MMT members also visited the fully operational Barotac Viejo Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (BVSRIP) in Nueva Invencion, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo to witness firsthand the future of the CABANO SRIP.
Once completed, the CABANO SRIP will irrigate 861 hectares of farmland and benefit 1,304 farmers in the Province of Guimaras.
