Antique Irrigation Management Office under the management of Engr. Ma. Elena T. Basco, Acting Division Manager conducted a mobile application for condonation and writing off of Unpaid Irrigation Service Fee (ISF) to Sibalom-Belison Farmer IA (SBFIA) and SIHAMSA South IA on January 24-25, 2022 and January 31, 2022, respectively.
It was one of the strategies of the Agency to increase the number of farmer-applicants and make it easier for the farmers to process their application amidst the pandemic.
“Since most of our farmer are Senior Citizens, we have limited movement during this pandemic. This initiative of Antique IMO is a big relief. We can process our application in the IA Offices or in the Barangay Halls. We no longer have to travel to San Jose and process our application at the NIA Office,” Mr. Silvino H. Zapanza, Jr., President, SBFIA & Federation of Antique Irrigators’ Associations-NIS (FAIA-NIS) said.
Antique IMO also coordinated with the different barangay officials to seek their assistance in said activity.
As to date, 1,625 farmers already have applied for condonation of ISF. Other IAs also have coordinated for the schedule in their respective barangays.
“It has always been my commitment to bring NIA closer to the farmers. Together, we will work hand in hand to extend our full support to our farmers,” Engr. Ma. Elena T. Basco said.
