AKLAN-CAPIZ IMO LEADS ANNUAL TREE PLANTING ACTIVITY TO SUPPORT NATIONAL GREENING PROGRAM

July 5, 2024 - As a strong demonstration of its commitment to environmental sustainability, the National Irrigation Administration's Aklan-Capiz Irrigation Management Office (IMO) participated in the annual simultaneous tree planting. Led by Division Manager Engr. Raymond B. Mojares, the event took place at Brgy. Bayuyan, President Roxas, Capiz.

With the theme “Sibol para sa Patubig ni BayaNIAn 2024,” the event was participated by various key figures and organizations, including the DENR-NGP Coordinator for Capiz, represented by Ms. Marlyn Caragayan; the President Roxas Fire Station, headed by SF03 George D. Delfin, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal; the Mobile Municipal Police Station, led by Police LT Jessie O. Agana; the local government unit, represented by SB Member Hon. Rudolph Estrella; President Roxas' MENRO, led by Mr. Hansel Bereber; the Barangay Local Government Unit, led by Brgy. Captain Hon. Mary Jane Estrella; and officials from BSBC IA, Inc., CIGUCO IA, PAMMARBBA IA, and the NIA-Aklan-Capiz IMO.

 

Engr. Mojares emphasized, “This tree planting activity is a testament to our dedication to preserving and enhancing the natural environment for future generations”.

The participants of the tree planting activity planted 2,000 seedlings of acacia mangguim, cacao, jackfruit, rambutan, sumay-og native, tipolo, star apple and narra trees along the watershed area of Bayuyan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (BSRIP).

The Aklan-Capiz IMO's tree planting activity is more than an environmental initiative; it is a strong expression of social unity and dedication to a sustainable future. As these newly planted trees take root and grow, they represent the long-term benefit of collaborative effort and the promise of a greener, healthier environment for everyone.
