Water delivery for the wet cropping season started on May 1, 2022, to the service area covered by the Aklan River Irrigation System.
Prior to this, the Operations and Maintenance personnel of NIA Aklan-Capiz IMO removed garbage along the main and lateral canals to efficiently provide irrigation water to the rice fields.
Irrigation cut-off for the dry crop started on February 28, 2022, and was scheduled for the repair and rehabilitation of irrigation structures. This was also based on the agreement between the farmer leaders and NIA.
