
October 14, 2022 - The Dalid Communal Irrigation System (CIS) and Tarog Alimodian Pump Irrigation System have been successfully turned over to the local government unit of Alimodian, earlier today.
The National Irrigation Administration- Iloilo-Guimaras Irrigation Management Office Division Manager A, Engr. Randy C. Alipis, handed the turnover documents of the two CIS that serves 48 farmer-beneficiaries with a total service area of 75 hectares to Alimodian LGU headed by Mayor Ian Kenneth A. Alfeche.
This activity was for the implementation of the Mandanas Ruling and Executive Order 138 or the Full Devolution of Certain functions of the executive branch to local government units. This is also part of the NIA’s transition plan for the said devolution.
NIA will be extending technical assistance to LGU on communal irrigation development and an institutional aspect of the farmers.
"This is not the end of the assistance kang NIA nga itugro kaninyo, but this is just the start ka bag-o nga strategy kang aton gobyerno kung paano matugro ang tanan nga serbisyo sa mangunguma," Engr. Alipis said.
In his acceptance speech, Mayor Alfeche pointed out the importance of the role of the IA in the maintenance of the irrigation system. "Taw-an naton igtalupangod agod magprotekta kang komunal nga irigasyon paagi sa pag iwas sa ilegal nga activity especially ang quarry", he said.
Vice Mayor Geefre "Calay" Alonsabe challenged the IA with their responsibility to sustain the functional irrigation system. In his closing remarks, he said, "Kamo ang nagbaton ka responsibilidad nga mangin epektibo ang communal irrigation system, therefore, hindi kamo magwatak-watak, kinahanglan magburuligay, mag irintindihanay".
