On September 13, 2022, NIA-Iloilo-Guimaras IMO-Jalaur-Suague River Irrigation System, Pototan, Iloilo personnel conducted their 1st day of Operation FISA Consultation and Application at Brgy. Dawis Sur, Zarraga, Iloilo/INDACA IA. This is an on-site processing/application of Free Irrigation and Condonation and Writing off of unpaid Irrigation Service Fees (ISF) per RA 10969, the Free Irrigation Service Act (FISA) to qualified landowners.

On September 16, the key players for Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) held a meeting for Supervision, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Support (SMES) at Smallville 21 Hotel, Manduariao, Iloilo City.

Negros Occidental IMO in partnership with Municipality of Moises Padilla and Office of the Provincial Agriculturist conducted Turn-Over of Greenhouse (Model Farm) to Bungahin Irrigators' Association, (IA) Inc. and Farmers' Field Day.

The said IA has won the 5th place for the 2020 Nationwide search for Most Outstanding IA and was awarded with One Million Pesos f0r the establishment of IA Model Farm which include the construction of Green house, open field plots and overhead tank for drip irrigation driven by a solar power.

NIA Central Office - Irrigation Engineering Center spearheads the conduct of Refresher Course in Enhanced FGIS Capacity Building for Technical/Focal Persons in Iloilo City from September 26-September 30, 2022.

The training is being attended by 10 Regional and 2 Project Offices (Regions I, II, III, IV-A, IV-B, V, VI, VIII, XI, XII, MARIIS, & UPRIIS), where the trainers and facilitators are from IEC-Central Office.

Negros Occidental IMO in collaboration with Bago City Health Office is currently conducting COVID-19 1st or 2nd dose booster shots for NOIMO employees at NIA Conference Room.

NIA Region 6 attends the CY 2022 3rd Quarter Meeting of the Regional Committee on Devolution in Region VI.

The meeting was conducted via Zoom to discuss the Updates on Communication Plans, Status of Submission and Evaluation of National Government Agency (NGA) Devolution Transition Plan (DTP), and other matters concerning the implementation of Devolution in the region.

NIA Region VI staff join the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee – Technical Working Group Meeting regarding Panay River Basin, being led by the Office of Civil Defense Region VI. The meeting discusses topics on the proposed RDRRMC-RDC Resolution regarding the Creation of TWG on the Proposed Dredging Project/Activity, the DENR-6 status of River Basin Committee in the Region, and the status of Panay River Basin Integrated Development Project (PRBIDP) including the resolutions to the higher-ups in support of the project.

Regional Manager Rory F. Avance led the dialogue between NIA Region VI and Presidents of Jalaur Proper Lateral E Irrigators’ Associations, today, September 20, 2022 at Jalaur-Suague Rivers Irrigation System Office in Pototan, Iloilo.

The dialogue was held to address the issues and concerns of the farmers regarding irrigation water delivery and the ongoing construction of siphon structure at Monpon, Barotac Nuevo Iloilo.

NIA Regional Office VI joins "Healing, Reconciliation, and Operationalizing the 11 Building Blocks in the Ancestral Domain in Support to the Whole of Government/Whole Nation Approach by empowering the Former Rebels, IP Youth/IP-Enlistment Personnel, and IP Elders" an activity of National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) in partnership with National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

The Regional Office VI – ISO Internal Quality Audit Team headed by its Chairperson, Ms. Lyn Grace B. Causing together with its members; Ms. Maritess M. Bolinas and Engr. Andres Bonie O. Tuala, with Ms. Aubrey Pantin and Ms. Geraldine Cabaobao, as their transcriber conducted an internal audit in Aklan-Capiz IMO last Sept. 12-14, 2022 in order to prepare the office in its interminable pursuance on ISO Quality Management System.
