EMPOWERING NIA ANTIQUE IRRIGATION MANAGEMENT OFFICE THROUGH NEW HEAVY EQUIPMENT

Good news graced the NIA Antique Irrigation Management Office as the new excavator arrived on January 12, 2024. The heavy equipment is set to play a pivotal role in the essential tasks of maintenance and desilting within the Sibalom-San Jose Irrigation System and various Communal Irrigation Systems (CIS) across the province. The equipment was promptly transported to its destination in Solong, Sibalom, Antique.

ACIMO EMPOWERS ENGINEERS THROUGH 3RD BATCH DETAILED ENGINEERING DESIGN TRAINING

The National Irrigation Administration's Engineering Department, specifically the Design and Specifications Division, recently concluded its 3rd Batch of Skills Development Training focused on Detailed Engineering Design for Diversion Works in Kalibo, Aklan.

Kicked off on January 4, 2024, the event commenced with a warm welcome from Engr. Raymond B. Mojares, the Acting Division Manager of Aklan-Capiz IMO, followed by an inspirational address from Engr. Emilio M. Domagas, Jr., NIA Division Manager A of Design and Specifications.

TANGALAN IRRIGATION SERVICE ASSOCIATION, INC. TAKES OVER TANGALAN CIS

The NIA Aklan-Capiz Irrigation Management Office started the new year by handing over the Tangalan Communal Irrigation System (CIS) to the Tangalan Irrigation Service Association on January 9, 2024, at Brgy. Tagas, Tangalan, Aklan.

The 20-million project was completed in December 2023 to provide efficient irrigation services to the Municipality of Tangalan serving 465 farmers and 344 hectares of agricultural land in the municipality.

NIA UNVEILS MODERNIZED IRRIGATION FLEET: 9 NEW HEAVY EQUIPMENT UNITS PROPEL REGIONAL IRRIGATION SERVICE

On January 9, 2024, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VI, under the leadership of Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres, marked a significant milestone through a Blessing and Ceremonial Turnover of New Heavy Equipment to various Irrigation Management Offices (IMOs). The recipients included the Antique IMO, Aklan-Capiz IMO, Iloilo-Guimaras IMO, and Negros Occidental IMO.

NEGROS OCCIDENTAL LGUs PARTNER WITH NIA FOR IRRIGATION IMPROVEMENT

A Joint System Management Committee Meeting for the Bago River Irrigation System and Pangiplan River Irrigation System was held at the HOD Hall, Capitol Building, Bacolod City. Organized by the Provincial Governor of Negros Occidental, Hon. Eugenio Jose “Bong” V. Lacson and in collaboration with the NIA Negros-Occidental IMO under the leadership of Division Manager A Engr. Isaias C. Melendez.

AKLAN-CAPIZ IMO CONDUCTS INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION TRAINING TO REFINE GOVERNMENT SERVICE DELIVERY

December 28, 2023 - To enhance government service delivery, NIA-Aklan-Capiz IMO conducted Interpersonal Communication Training for the Government Service Delivery Excellence Program at the Aklan State University Function Hall, Kalibo, Aklan.

Ms. Maricel M. Bechayda, a national trainer and Division Chief of the DILG-Region VI’s Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED), was the resource speaker of the activity, which aimed to strengthen the foundation of successful public service through effective communication.

NIA REGION VI RECEIVES 9 NEW EXCAVATORS

The National Irrigation Administration, in its aim to further improve irrigation services through new and reliable equipment, had successfully procured 141 excavators for all regions nationwide amounting to P766 million pesos.

NIA Region VI received 9 excavators to add to its pool of heavy equipment. These excavators shall be distributed among the Irrigation Management Offices in the different provinces of the region.

NIA R6 HOLDS ANNUAL GIFT-GIVING ACTIVITYY TO THE COMMUNITY OF TACAS, JARO

The NIA Regional Office VI led by Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres held the office’s annual Christmas Outreach program to give back to the community of Tacas, Jaro, Iloilo City on December 27, 2023.

A grocery package with essential goods and holiday food items was given to 150 chosen beneficiaries from the barangay. The activity is part of the NIA R6 Corporate Social Responsibility to its stakeholders including the community where the office is located.

NIA R6 BOOSTS COLLABORATION FOR BETTER FARMING THROUGH IA CONGRESS

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA)-Iloilo-Guimaras IMO held the Barotac Viejo Irrigators’ Association (IA) Congress at the Melberto's Restaurant in the municipality of Barotac Viejo, Iloilo on December 14, 2023. The office witnessed the notable participation and presence of various members of the eight Irrigators Associations headed by Federation of IA President Ms. Yancy B. Espinosa; Local Government Unit of Barotac Viejo in the presence of Mayor Nielo “Bongbong” C. Tupas; Chief of Staff of 5th District Representative Atty.
