Aklan-Capiz Irrigation Management Office successfully turned over three (3) Communal Irrigation Systems to the Municipal Local Government Unit of Madalag, Aklan. Engr. Lorena B. Sioco, ACIMO Division Manager A, initiated the turn over on October 19, 2022 held at the Municipal Hall of Madalag. Engr. Robertino O. Lapeña, Engineering and Operations Division Manager and Mr. Leonard Salonga, Sr. IDO graced the occasion and supported the endeavor.
The communal irrigation systems that were devolved were Olias CIS, Bontaling CIS, and Tigbawan CIS.
The 3 CISs in Madalag have an aggregate firmed-up service area of 76 hectares benefitting 106 farmers and their families. Farmers organized into Irrigators Associations were the following: Tigbawan IA, Inc., Agpaya IA, Inc., and Agtayamon IA, Inc.
In behalf of the Municipal Mayor of Madalag, Hon. Rex T. Gubatina, Sangguniang Bayad member Hon. Felzon Nagtalon received the pertinent documents of Irrigators Associations with the commitment to continue the good practices and services NIA has provided to the IAs.
On behalf of the Irrigators Associations in Madalag, Hon. Jorin Z. Iguiz, President of Tigbawan IA, Inc., expressed his gratitude to NIA for the Institutional Development Programs NIA has implemented throughout the years they have been under the supervision of the Agency.
Present also in the ceremony were Department Heads of LGU Madalag and Irrigators Association members.
